IM new to this car thing ive been into the racing and driving part but im jus gettin into the mechanical side of it. Hopefully this forum thing will help me cause im in serious trouble right now wit this car
I have a 96 eclipse rs its 5 speed i have msd coil cold air intake and cat back exhaust my problem is that at first my car was choking stuttering and popping at idle and between the 2500 to 4000 rpm range my CEL had came on and i took it by autozone and it put out a high voltage o2 sensor code but this is the third time its happened this month i had just changed my o2 sensor the sat. b4 and the sat. b4 that i took by a local mechanic and he told me it was my injectors i was strapped for cash so i borrowed my bf stock 19ib injectors that where side feed from a mustang the connectors popped straight on and fitted in fine i bolted everything back together and turned the car on and now it goes straight from idle to the redline could u tell me wats wrong i asked the mechanic about using the mustang injectors and he said that as long as there side feed it should work so why would my car be going straight to the redline. i also have changed my fuel filter

Throttle stuck open? That's the first thing I'd check. BTW it would be nice if you took the time to introduce yourself, maybe posted some pics of your car and not scream for help at us in the future.

Replace your spark plug wires. $40 at Autozone.

Bad plug wires cause short circuits. Electricity goes everywhere but to the spark plug. Fix the misfire first. If this code returns, other fish to fry.

Take them out. They should work, but your stockers are likely fine. Put them back in.

Vacuum leak somewhere on the intake side. Make sure all your vac lines and hoses are installed and clamped down tight.

ok i just got through checking everything again i had a bad gasket on the intake manifold so i changed it and things went back to normal for a little while then it started sputtering again im bout to go buy a new msd pack n wires and see wat will happen
