well i tried to prep it tonight, by cranking it with no fuel/spark,

and alas, i get no cranking.. i get cel 11....that sux, i realised my cam angle sensor was unpluged, so i plugged it in. i have a 96, and 97 block..so i changed the crank senor connector to fit the 97+ sensor, matched the wires up and thats where i am.. the CAS gets 5v on 1 wire and 8 on the other, so its getting voltage.the starter is getting its 12V, but im going to try and jump the starter. as for the timing, its dead on, looking at the VC @ TDC, both cam holes are up. battery is dead, but i have it hooked up to my explorer at the time(as if i were jumping it), so it should have plenty of cranking amps.
no.. idk wtf..im gunna try tapping on the starter and jumping the starter , but it worked fine when i took it off. so idk..there is a 4 pin white molex cable hanging from my steering colum, i think it was hooked up to my turbo timer, would tha have nething to do with it?

ps i do hear my fuel pump priming, and i can feel a tiny tiny little vibration or movement in the starter when i turn the key to start. but it only last for a sec even with holding the key in "start position". the starter does have a good ground and 12 supplied to it.
i dont hear any clicking or noises from the starter when i turn the key to start.

im going to try jumping the starter and mayb giving it a little tap tap taparoo. any other sugestions?

Remove any adapter plugs from the turbo timer, plug your ignition harness back into it's stock location and try that.

crap, i feard this, the person that orginally wired it al up did a fuck ass job, so idk whats oem, and whats stock, i assume that the oem would just be hangin there when the TT was installed..?

There should be two plugs coming from the tt adapter, one for the stock ignition harness and one to plug in where the stock one went on the ignition switch.

I'm not really sure but you did say there was a plug disconnected up there and the wiring is jacked up so that's why I suggested bypassing the tt since it does control the ignition. You do have the explorer running while trying to crank your car right? Might not be getting all the power it needs, make sure the jumper cables have good connections.

yes its running, anf its got a good connection i see like 13v+ on the termanls.

kids at home, dont be retarted like me, when you attempt to start your 5spd, remeber...sometimes theres a clutch swich.. so push the clutch in to start!! lol .. i was used to driving my auto,, i wasnt pushing in the clutch, when i didi it cranked lol...thanx for the good help tho!

not a dsm issue, but after cleaning my subaru's interior I couldn't figure out why my parking lights wouldn't go off. started tracing wires, couldn't find any issues, thought maybe cleaning products had gotten somewhere they shouldn't so I took harness plugs apart and blew them out with air, no luck.

there's a parking light switch on the top of the steering column that's IMPOSSIBLE to see. I had hit it in my cleaning frenzy
