wow

first off this isnt a text message forum please use real words and complete sentences. this way we know exactly what your asking about.

second
research your project and come up with a realistic plan.
once you know what is going into your turbo kit, you will know which parts can be retaind and not replaced when you go turbo

start of with by reading in the "Turbo/ Nitrous Tech" forum, and use the Wiki on this forum.

trust me a nice day of search button pressing will give you all the answers you need for your question, as long as you know what you need for your project

1. Wet kit. 50-75 shot is safe on a stock engine. Dont run 100 shot or you'll blow the welds on your intake and fry your piston rings........

2. Short shifter. Symbroski kit.

3. Lsd. Neon gears.

4. Shocks and springs that stop your ass from squatting when you launch or get on it.

5. Cat back. Go with a 3" since you plan on turboing the bitch anyway. You can shop no-name here. As long as it's mandrel bent ur fine.

6. Short ram intake. Go no-name here too. They all flow about the same. You can use the filter and possibly the intake tube for your turbo app.

Guy, if you want in on this forum you're going to need to chill out just a little bit.

Lashing out at the big dogs isn't going to get you anywhere but banned and then what? You'll be stuck on dsmtuners or eclipseforum.

Just chill out.

We're all here to have fun and work on our cars. Remember that. This is a semi-serious site though. If you can't type seriously nobody is going to take you seriously.

look anubis, we're all here to help, but we also don't respond to people that post like little preteen girls using text messaging or Aol chatrooms. We all use complete words and punctuation. if you don't spell something completely right it's not a big deal, but please try.

there is TONS of info on how to setup a turbo on our cars and most of the questions have already been answered multiple times. a little time in the turbo forums reading and some searching can give you more than enough information. also look through the "mods & tech info" link at the top of the page.

you can learn more here than any other DSM site regarding the non turbo platform, and make tons of friends at the same time(except maybe Dino - he hates everyone :P ) please respect the format everyone here already agrees on and you'll get along great! :thumbsup

Firing back at the people here gets you banned the instance your post is read. No hesitation. I've been down that road, it's not fun, but I've set out to change that so I can post and get help from these folks.

Not sure if someone has said this, but depending on how much boost you plan to run, you might wanna look into a bottom-end rebuild with forged internals, or you may have to rebuild anyway when something blows up lol.

ok now i understand but do i really need a neons fly wheel or can i buy an alluminum one( if so can it be FWD turbo one, is there gonna be a noticable difference between any of them .) ?

Ps. really need help i cant return my clutch !!!!!
105789, RE: wut 2 do ?????
Posted by bullettdsm, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
You cannot use that clutch. It is not made for our vehicles. You can try to sell it in our 4g63 FS section (I presume that's it's application). Fidanza does make a lightened flywheel specifically for our cars (but, no you can't use the turbo disc with it).
105790, RE: wut 2 do ?????
Posted by anubis8637, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
so what do you guys suggest i do get me a fly wheel and convert or just sell the clutch and blah blah (blah blah means i dont know what to do ) ????
105793, RE: wut 2 do ?????
Posted by 2GeclipseRS, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
SELL THE CLUTCH OR BUY A GST/GSX.

If all else fails, it'll make a pretty cool doorstop or paperweight!

Save more money up and kick yourself in the ass. Make sure you get the right freakin' clutch this time.
105794, RE: wut 2 do ?????
Posted by foggy45, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
SELL THE CLUTCH
there is nothing you can do to make that cutch you have fit the vehicle you now own.
its for the wrong car, wrong transmission.
just stop, give up, sell it and get the right clutch pack

Man I hate to go off topic but what's up with these new newbs?? I have been here for a few years and it seems like this summer has been the summer of the wierd newbs. The last couple of weeks i've seen tons of newbs join and post questions without even bothering to search at all. Other newbs are joining and asking the craziest questions like our buddy who wanted to slap on two turbos in his 2gnt without even knowing what a turbo does. Then other newbs are joining and want you to make them a shopping list of items they will need for their setups like we're their servants. Where does it end? :whoa

For header/intake/exhaust upgrades, you need not look into big name brands unless it'll make you feel better saying you have a jic/greddy/dc/etc whatever.

Keep that in mind if things change and you decide to go N/A for whatever reason.

I'd look into ebay. I see them go for $200 bucks all the time. They look pretty similar to the apexi N1-style exhaust and i'm willing to bet they'll flow almost as good if not better for a huge fraction of the price.

If you find one you like, post it up if you're not sure about it.

well tranny wise i think is stock ive never tampered with it so i think is modular what does this mean im still a little bit lost ?
(Ps i read the post on mod vs non-mod does this mean i gotta by a new fly wheel ?)

I only get about fifteen minutes at a time to get over here. I'm glad I got to spend those fifteen minutes, today, reading this thread. Big ups to micyek for keeping it real in here.

Just as a reminder, there's a word for people who point out the faults of others, yet possess those very same faults themselves...

For the OP, here's some food for thought. In this environment, only your words define your reputation. We can't see your face or hear your voice when you speak to us, so it's what you write - and how you write it - that serves as your street cred, if you will. If you want to BE the man, you have to ACT like the man. Show us your A-game and we can all move to the next level.

did you read anything about your clutch?
if you have a stock 97 that ACT cluth you bought is WORTHLESS
however you can use it if you do the Modular to Non-modular conversion

again found in the TRANSMISSION section of this forum, and even comes equiped with a search button for the NV-T350
spend some free time reading old posts and youll see that most (if not all) questions have been asked before

So here's a couple things worth mentioning (despite being kinda mentioned already in this thread). Hope this helps.

1. 95-99 NT cars have a Dodge motor and transmission in them. No GST/GSX engine or transmission/clutch products will work on your car.

2. Modular clutches are awesome, imo. Once you have access to the clutch unit, it's easier to replace than a headlight bulb. Really! You grab it, pull it off the input shaft, set it aside, grab the new one, set it back on the input shaft, and you're pretty much done. Just like that.

3. If you're really unsure about clutch specs and all that for your car, check out South Bend Clutch. They treat us so good that we give them free advertising on this site. They will listen to what mods you've got and where you're heading with the car, then suggest a clutch designed to give you the best mix of performance and drivability. They have really good prices and excellent service as well. Give them a call.

Like Driggs here said. What have you do to mod the car? Are you going to turbo the car in the future? Is this your daily driver?

I do not have a modular clutch in my car. I went the slightly more expensive route and converted it to a non modular clutch with lightweight flywheel. I know what I want to do in the end with my car and this seemed as though it would meet my future goals with no problems

Clutch Setup

There are two different clutch setups that you can choose from. You can choose to either use a modular or non-modular clutch setup.

Modular Clutch
With the modular clutch setup you will be using the flex plate that your torque converter bolted to. The benefit of this clutch setup is the ease to install the transmission in a tight area by yourself. The stock modular clutch setup includes a flywheel and pressure plate that are riveted together. The clutch is sandwiched between the two and cannot be replaced separately.

This is easy to install because you slide the clutch kit over the input shaft on the transmission and then bolt the transmission up. After the transmission is bolted up you then bolt the clutch kit to the stock flexplate.

Here is another explanation of what you will need if you want to do a non-modular clutch. It lists some of the pros and cons of each setup according to me.

I may be right or I may be wrong.

Non-Modular Clutch
With the non-modular clutch setup you will need to source a flywheel from a 1995 Dodge Neon and a clutch kit for the 1995 Neon. You will also need the flywheel to crank bolts and the pressure plate to flywheel bolts. The six bolts that bolt the flywheel to pressure plate are M8 1.25 x 17. The 8 for the flywheel to crank are M10 1.0 x 25. Thanks to Juggalo for this information about the bolt sizes. I would try and get these in a class 12.9. The pressure plate to flywheel bolts are about $1.25/bolt from the local Dodge dealer and the flywheel to crank bolts were about $6/bolt. I managed to get them for about $.15/bolt from Industrial Screw & Supply in Baton Rouge.

This setup will allow for a much more flexible clutch setup. You can check out something that Mark did. This is an Audi pressure plate, Neon flywheel and another clutch disc that he found. You can check out this mod here if you would rather make your own modular setup instead of using a Neon one.

question ???? does my crank come with the holes to bolt on the 95 neon flywheel ????
105837, RE: wut 2 do ?????
Posted by 2GeclipseRS, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
Ok. The dodge neon and your eclipse have the same block pretty much. Everything will bolt up to your crank. You can get an aluminum flywheel for a 95+ neon if you want one. Google. I'm too lazy to look. :twitch

You really should read more. Wiki it up. Reading that and using the search has helped me far more than some of the bs i've tried asking about.

Neon clutch. Remember that and you're good.

oh my god i am going through the biggest mission to find the other parts needed to do my tranny quick question are preassure plate universal or specified ????
105841, RE: wut 2 do ?????
Posted by freelancefool, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
The pressure plate is specific to our application if you are staying with the stock modular clutch. If you are going to do some wild stuff like a custom non-modular clutch you need to find one with all the right holes and everything else. The specs are listed in the Wiki.
