I just got my new engine and clutch put in, its got .020 Wiseco 8.8 pistons, eagle h rods, +1mm pep oversized valves, Crower valve springs, Crower titanium retainers, new valve guides and locks, Crane 12 cams, and Fidanza cam gears, head has a street port, 3 angle valve job, and the valves were cut in. I have it N/A right now breaking it in with a 4-1 header, tsudo 2.5 inch cat back, MP 60mm throttlebody, and AEM V2 intake. Is it susposed to sound like a damn Subaru? This thing doesn't sound any different at idle but at while driving it sounds like a Subie, just wondering? Also I have had the passenger side and front prothane motor mounts in and it had some vibration but I also put the rear and drivers side in during the swap, it vibrates BAD. I gets smoother at about 3 grand but at 2k its really bad. I was just wondering if this was normal. Thanks guys!

ProthanE motor mounts will give you tons of vibration, and the Crane camshafts will give you an akward idle as well. When I did my rebuild I had a pretty wierd idle as well, but I swapped out ASD relays and it fixed the problem instantly. I actually took one off an automatic and used it on my 5 speed, it works great. Make sure your timing marks line up still as well. Even 1/2 a tooth makes a HUGE difference.

I know the timing is on right because I rotated the assembly several times before even setting it in the car. I also zero'd the cam gears out with the factory ones. The idle is like stock its once I get on the gas that it changes to a completly different tone. Its probably normal I was just wanting to make sure!

Those are pretty mild cams. it shouldn't sound noticably different.

Right but I didn't know if it would make a difference since I have oversized valves and headwork done plus the low compression? Just wondering. Idle is stock. When engine braking its pulling 20 to 25 inHg in vac.

I think I have it figured out. I think its just resonance(sp?) coming through the intake. I can VERY easily increase rpm and it doesn't do it but if I drive like I normally do about 1/3 or 1/2 throttle it does it.
