105486, Which one to buy, 2 different Melling Oil pumps Posted by powellds, Aug-06-07 12:42 AM
There is a Melling oil pump, and there's a high volume oil pump. I am all motor higher compression and want some input before I buy a new oil pump. I know the regular one would suffice, but there's a high volume one, would I benifit from it in any way? Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

I run a Melling high volume pump on my high compression application. It's not about oil pressure it's about flowing all the oil you can through the large oiling galley's in the motor. Oil pressure is a byproduct of having a good amount of oil flowing through your engine and then being restricted in places like the crank (mains and rod bearings) and the head (cams and lifters). I'd run the high volume pump It is a very good product from Melling.
