Not all the time, but sometimes, when I start it, I will have to bump the throttle and sometimes rev it up to get it to start. Also, when it does start and I am revving it up, it will occasionally backfire through the intake. This is in addition to my problem that I have posted before of dying occasionally while idling or even driving.

I have now replaced the following:

ECM
Crank Sensor
Fuel pump/filter
O2 sensors
cleaned out the IAC motor and throttle body

My next thing to replace is the cam sensor which I will do tonight and hope that will fix it.

Also, where is the MAP sensor located?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Passenger side of the intake manifold. Sounds like your timing belt might have jumped a tooth

Okay, I thought that was it. Funny I didn't know that was it. These damn sensors all look the same :)

That would be strange if it did jump a tooth. I changed it about 20k miles ago. Maybe I need to just check the alignment of the gears then.

Well, after changing the cam sensor and harness, the car doesn't seem to be dying anymore (THANKS GOD!) but it is still running rich and has the hesitation at cold start up. Now I'm to assume that the only thing that it could be is the MAP sensor. Anyone agree?

when I had a crack in my coolant reservoir I was getting nasty air bubbles in my system, when the air bubble got big enough the car would hesitate on startup and sometimes take a few pumps of the throttle to get it to fire right. it would also run rich as a pig until the engine reached normal temp. check the coolant level. maybe even burp the system

I just did a coolant flush last week and I have no res. since it got damaged and I hadn't replaced it. What's the best way to burp them. I know with Nissans, you can vacuum the air out or even put the front on blocks.

no res? where does your overflow go? You must be just puking your overflow out the side of the tstat housing, and then sucking air right back in! get a res tank fast.

to burp the system take the cap off the t-stat housing. start the car on and turn the heater on full blast. top off the fluid as needed but wait for the car to run to normal temp and watch for bubbles to come up through the housing. when no more bubbles come up then you can shut the car off and cap the coolant. rinse down the engine bay where the coolant most likely spilled, wouldn't want that stuff trashing your belts now.

Forget it, I sold it :)

Thanks for the help though, but I got tired of constantly messing with the same BS issues. The girl that bought it got 8 miles down the road and it died on her. Ended up being the main harness that goes to the ECM. One wire got exposed after sitting on an EGR tube?? and shorted out and blew a couple fuses. Car is gone now, so it's in her hands. Now I have a Chevy truck that has no stupid issues. lol
