Ok so it started out driving along and my car started misfiring on cylinders 2 and 3. Then while driving it a little ways like that the ignition coil cracked and melted.

Anyways I replaced the coil, the car ran good for about a minute and started misfiring again. So I took the ACCEL spark plug wires out and replaced them with the stock ones and changed to spark plugs. Still kept misfiring.

I took the ignition coil back and got another one, installed it, and the car ran fine. I figured it must have just been a faulty replacement coil. So then about a week later a switched the plug wires back to the ACCELs and then about two miles later it started misfiring again. Switched back to the stock wires, and it still misfiring. Another coil fried. So now I have a new coil installed but Im afraid to start the car, thinking it will fry this coil too.

Could the ACCEL wires fry the ignition coil, or is this some other culprit such as the ECU.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated,

If it was good brfore you put on the wires, then i'd say mabye they are the culprit.

If you car runs fine without the accel wires, then keep them off for a while a see how things go, if all is well then you know the wires are no good

Its just I havent really heard of plug wires killing ignition coils.
I have searched through multiple different forums and havent found anyone with similar problems.

I suspect a bad ground between the block and the battery
try adding a groundwire between the head and the frame of the car

OK, so I went out and started my car with the original spark plug wires and a brand new coil. For a second it fired on only two cylinders, then it went to all four, but still randomly misfired, and then I revved it up and it started firing on two and continues to fire on two. It is exactly what keeps happening.

Did you check the plug that connects into the coil?

EDIT: Did you check the ground like the guy above you said? Do it.

to me, it sounds like a power problem at this point. is it possible for the coil to receive to much power? like say the ecu sent out a bad signal, it could make the coil try and work twice as hard, and blow it up. but i have no clue if thats even possible or not...
i dunno i just got off work and i had a thought.... so i put it here. ( i'm exhausted and not thinking correctly most likely)

um...very interesting. at this point i would suspect that the cam/crank signal( cant remember which one the computer uses to trigger spark) might be bad. i would check those sensors and the related wiring, and also the signal wire for the coil. it could be possible that the coil is shorting out and its firing those two plugs all the time. find the two cylinders that are shorting out, stick some spark plugs in the wires and ground the treads on them to the valve cover and watch the plug firing pattern and see if it is just not sparking or if its a constant spark. but it sounds like you're getting a bad ignition reference. hope this helps.

EDIT: just another odd stupid thought..could it be possible that retarted resistor down below the exhaust mani and above the starter took a dump and now its making you short out coils? stranger things have happened...id be worth a shot to check it out...
