Well i got over a liter of oil in my catch can and the engine is running like crap so its time for a rebuild.

parts that have been ordered
JE 8.8:1 Turbo Pistons
Eagle Connecting Rods
SS Valves
Crowed Springs
Chrysler pulley remover

Still need to get
Gasket kit
oil/water pumps
new clutch (im thinking south bend, not sure which model)
Arp bolts for everything
timing belt assembly

I plan to be doing most of the work myself. so please post any advice or suggestions you have thanks.

Go to Parts Dinosaur (Google him) for all the stuff you still need to get. It looks like mostly stock stuff. These days, there are only about three vendors out there who I can recommend to any 2GNTer with a clear conscience - Parts Dinosaur, Road Race (RRE), and MachV. Everyone else has let us down.

Parts dinosaur is ill.

I just ordered a head gasket, timing belt, 4 ngk plugs, and head bolts for a grand total of $105 shipped.

Vatozone and unadvanced tried to sell me a timing belt (SA gear too i believe) for $65.

Plugs for $25

Head gasket by itself for a hair under $100.....

I saved so much money by going through PD.

So i got the engine dissasembled and i figured out my problem. Broken ring land on piston 4.

I would say the best place to start is right here.

I hope you didnt order the pistons/rod from howell... so long before you get them. Dont like to buy from ebay but they will have them in stock.

Call and talk to Andy. He'll get you taken care of. Southbend is good people and their service is top-notch.

i highly recommend using the mechanical timing tensioner from partsdinosaur instead of the hydraulic unit from the dealer. i won't ever buy another hydraulic unit.

well from what i have read there have been mixed feelings about the mechanical tensioner so i just went with the oem.
