Has anyone had any luck removing an OBX intake manifold without pulling the head? I had my obx fuel rail pop loose and I have to remount the rail to the manifold.

remove rear motor mount, remove front motor mount, pull engine forward and waaaaaallaaaaa!

Do you leave the cradle in place or remove it?

Those are a pain in the dick, i never had to take undo any of the mounts, but it would save you a broken nuckle or 2. Those fuel rails are notorious for leaks after first installing them, sucks OBX had such a great idea but such a horrible fitment issue

My Venom fuel rail fit perfect into my Venom Manifold...shows the difference from a decent company like Venom to a company like OBX.

His has been installed for quite some time...just plain garbage

Just an update on resolving the issue:




I didn't have to take out or loosen any engine mounts to take out the manifold. I did have to drop the cradle about an inch and take out both of the studs in the intake manifold.

It does look like a lot with all the braided lines becuase they stand out against the black engine compartment. I am also trouble shooting circuits from a MS install as well so there are some random electronics in the mix.

Thanks for all the help guys. Everything is back in place and there doesn't seem to be any damage to the engine from the fuel rail issue. I got very lucky.

I didn't have to mess the the cradle or any mounts getting it back in which leads me to believe that I shouldn't have needed to on the way out either.

i have pulled my obx intake about a million times it seems. Where are you have trouble and if you dont mind a question or two how in the hell did you get yours to work. I tapped for the IAT and MAP, have ran all my vac, fuel pressure reg, brake booster, wastegate, bov, boost guage,oil catch can, and a vac line that goes to the top of my TB. I ported the IM to match the 60 mm TB and had to create a throttle place for it to properly seal. then mounting the stock fuel rail has been a nightmare. Once the injectors are on the dont sit right in the IM, I have filed the mounting brackets for the fuel rail and doubled the O-rings on the injectors for the not to leak under the boost leak test. finally after getting it to hold 20psi for about 20 min, i decided that everything was sealing correctly but the damn car wont crank for shit. This has been gooing on for about 3 weeks. So I have become very accustom to pulling the IM off. Just wonder if you had some insight. Also I was able to get the car to run only after opening the throttle body and spraying starter fluid in it. I'm stumped and ready to put the stock mani back in with the stock injectors. Anyway sorry for all the questions just really fed up. Thanks man
