104399, rough idling then stalls
Posted by therealpit, May-24-07 11:50 AM
I've read through alot of post and I'm stuck. This is what happens. When I start my car it the rpms will rise to 14-1500 then it will drop down to 1000rpm and it idles rough. After about 10 mins of idle it will almost stall but just as soon as it is about to stall the rpms jump back up to about 1800 rpms. 30 secs later it stalls.

This is what I have checked.

map sensor
cam sensor
crank sensor
cleaned the throttle body and tps and iac valve
new plugs, wire and coil

Any suggestions would be great?

Could the timing be off by like 1 tooth or 1/2 tooth?

Any help would be great.

What year are you? Can you do the key dance? Need to find out what the code is. That will help immensely.

98 key dance doesnt work i use to do the key dance all the time on my 95. Can i rent a obd2 from a store? Or should I just go buy one. No tags on the car so i cant drive it to the auto zone

some places will "rent" their testers, you have to put down a hefty deposit. checker/shucks/kragen charges a $200 deposit, but you get all or most of that back (depends on the store manager) and that will at least clue you in as to what's going on, or you can buy CHEAP testers for around a hundred, sometimes less. start there if you can, then worry about tearing into your timing

just ran obd test and got p0108 which means map sensor voltage to high does that mean i need a new map sensor? would that fix the rough idling?
