103889, speed sensor question? Posted by reddrifteclipse, Apr-13-07 08:47 AM
i am not sure if this is in the right place so move if not without killing me please.
ok my speed sensor has went south and now i need a new one. OEM from mitsubishi = $147 autozone = 90
now my question: are talons of the same year identical down to the sensors. if so then the one for a talon is $40. will this work?

all the talon differences are cosmetic, mechanicals are exactly the same as the eclipse of the same year

I swapped an engine tranny from a 95 Talon ESi, to my eclipse, and when i tried to plug in the speed sensor...the plug was different...and broken inside the transmission causing me to pull it all again...but anyway.
I would suggest trying to verify the plug socket first.
The one i had looked similar, but was not the same. Or maybe they tried to put the wrong one in and thats how it broke...hmm.

All speed sensor plugs are the same. The coil plug, cam, and crank angle sensors changed after '96.

Actually Dino they did change the speed sensor as well. I had to change mine on my talon when the sensor failed

Really. Same style as the coil still? I've only ever seen the 95-96 style plugs on them.
