103799, p0172 problem Posted by boosted60trimrst, Apr-08-07 01:08 PM
i keep getting the system too rich code at least 2 times a week for the last couple months . i cant figure it out . the car runs great .no studdering or anything . a/f at full boost around 11.8 and 14.7 at idle . egt's are 800 idle ,1000-1200 crusing and 1450-1500 at full boost .im running 30lb injectors with sfmu biggest disk with bleed open 1/2 turn and hard spring ,idle fp at 22psi. What can cause this code to keep popping up ?

its probably cause your ecu is programmed for a NA car. 11.8 is ok with turbo but probably your ecu doesn't know that

it started happening around the time i installed the 30lb injectors if thats any help . could it be the voltage setting on the fcd ? im afraid to play with it tho cuz i havent had any type of fuel cut since i set it the first time but that was before the injectors . what do you guys think ?

Do you know anything about fuel trims? If not go do some reading then you might figure out the answer if not post again.
Hint: You will need a OBDII scan tool that will display the pertinent information, once you find out what you are looking for.

Hey,
I know this is a semi-old post, but I am having the same problems with the P0172. I have 30lb injects and FCD. AFR at idle is 14.7 and at boost is 11.8 - 12.2 @ 7 psi. I bought a new O2 sensor and that didnt help. Did you solve the problem? Anyone else have this problem?
