ok guys.. dont yell at me.. but for about a year now i have had a nice amount of oil in my spark plug holes.. first it was just number 1..but now its all over them.. is that going to mess up anything or hinder performance or spark??
the guys that first told me bout it.. wanted 115 to do it.. glad i didnt pay them
since the kit is 13 bucks.. and my labor is freee and much more fun..

Nah. it's just four little rubber o-rings that go bad over time. It'll take you maybe 4-5 hours to do your first time. $115 is totally outrageous.

4-5 hours AT MOST! It only took me 1 - 2 hours for the VC gasket. Of course, after the cam install, I could get from running condition to vc off in 5 minutes!

Are you all on crack or something? 4-5 hrs to change a valve cover gasket set? on our cars? I just unbolted the coil packs, pulled the plug wires off, pulled the water temp wires off, unbolted the bolts on the valve cover with a deep socket, pulled the valve cover off, pulled off the old gasket, put on the new, torqued the valve cover to the specifications in the fsm, screwed the coil pack back on, and finished up... took maby 30-40 min i guess 1st time.. am i missing something? or did you all take advantage of having the cover off and clean the valvetrain? Thats probably what i shoulda done, but I'll open the can of worms when it gets warm out again... yah know?

oil in spark plugs + less spark = loss of performance.
I'd change it.

if it seeps in you could mess up the wires / spark plugs. So just check them when you do the valve cover gasket, and yes this can hurt performance if the plugs/wires are bad.
