Why don't more people use downpipes? Can't they just take it off to pass SMOG. It adds like 25 ponies. Is there something I'm missing? Please respond ASAP. Looking to buy the one from www.machv.com,

Umm. . . .hmm. . . whats your current setup? Do you have a turbo cause adding a downpipe to a NT isn't going to do anything for it. If you have a turbo, you will see a difference with a larger downpipe but probably not 25 hp.

There is no chance adding an aftermarket downpipe to an NT is going to add 25HP. It's not feasable. The only way it could help is if you are running a turbocharged or high compression setup with a restrictive exhaust.

Oh, you win. Yeah, it's just with turbo. I'm just trying to find a way to free up some ponies. However, there is like nothing. I'm just gonna turbo sooner or later. This worthless spending of 300 + here and there for 5-6 hp gain is juts not working... stupid car.

Just spend $2000 and start out with stage 1 turbo and go from there. That is the fastest and cheapest way to the most power all the time. Nitrous will cost less up front but filling a $30 - $40 bottle gets pricy and you can't use it that often. So far I have found no mods that make a huge difference on the car when it's still NA to free up some HP.
