My automatic wont go any faster than 75mph! Everytime I floor it all the way and it reaches 75mph the needle jumps back to 3000rpm and stays there even though i stomp on the gas, it wont accelerate any further.Any ideas whats wrong? thanks.

Throttle position sensor? Transmission shift solenoid? Could be that your throttle cable needs to be tightened a little so the throttle plate opens up all the way? All things to check out. Have a friend floor it with it turned off and look at the throttle plate in the throttle body and see if it is completely horizontal. check the main page for instructions. The others, well, u have to put it on a machine for that. The tranny will basically give u a CEL. I blew a shift soenoid with the venom 400 cuz it made me shift at 7100 with auto. I guess it overloaded them. The car got a CEL. and I removed the venom, then unhooked the + battery cable for 20 minutes. And It came back. So I had to tow it to satan.

Are you still using the venom 400? I've been reading about it and I'm wondering what can it do for our cars? Is it a good purchase?

Are you stuck in 2nd gear? Is the CEL on? That's what it's sounding like. If that's the case you probably had what the tranny computer thinks is a major malfunction and dropped you into "limp-in" mode. The TCU shut off all the solenoids in the transmission and has locked you into second gear to prevent any more damage (if there was any in the first place). It could be a simple problem (speed sensors) or a serious problem (physical damage to the tranny components). You should probably have someone take a look at it soon.

I highly doubt that hes limited to second gear if hes going 75 at 3k rpms. Does your auto accelerate fine and than around 75 the tach needle falls down to 3k?

Sounds like limp mode to me.. I'd take it somewhere and have it checked out.

the venom 400 helps the auto shift later, but will blow your shift sensors. Also, they don't tell you, you can't run heat or ac with it on, and you have to cut the car off to turn it on or off. It felt better, but I didn't think it was that good. My car when I blew the transmission sensor. I think it was my 3-4 solenoid. not sure. Don't remember, the car would stay in 1 gear and wind up pretty bad. So, I discovered that to get home, it would allow me to shift manually. Then, I towed it to the nearest SATAN.

my CEL is on constantly ,did the key dance and im getting a code 25 ,i changed the cam, crank sensor, numerous relays, IAC motor, and ECU still nothing. im getting the TPS sensor changed soon. could this be the cause of it? i also have symptoms like: engine shutting off while im driving, rough/high idle @ 2000 rpm (sometimes), and i have to give it a little gas everytime i start the car or else it would die out. not going past 75 mph be one of the symptoms?

man.. that's quite a list of things there.. I'd look up that code 25 if I was you.. and if that doesn't say anything.. take it into a shop. that's my advice..

Does the car stick in 1 gear and wind up pretty high RPM's when u drive and will not shift on it's on? If so, it is definetely the tranny. I would say look the code 25 up and then if you can not diagnose the problem or fix it, take it to the dealer.
