i was wondering how to hook up a oil pressure gauge for my 420a

tee off the oil pressure sending unit on the back of the block . u need a brass tee fitting to screw in to the block then you screw in the stock opsu and sender for the guage . hook the service wire up from the sender to the gauge .then just hook the power and ground on the gauge and your done .

the opsu (oil pressure sending unit) is the most driver side sensor screwed into the back of the block . it has a lime greenish connector on it .

do you know what size t fiting i need?

This works well if you need more ports too.

It should be a 3/8 tee and you will need an adaptor to go from 3/8 to 1/8 for the Autometer sender. If you plan on reusing the stock oil pressure sender (nobody really does though) it will screw into the 3/8 part without any adaptors.

You can get all this at a Lowes or similar store:

1 - 3/8 NPT Female Tee
1 - 3/8 NPT Hex Nipple (To screw into the tee for screwing into the block)
1 - 3/8 NPT to 1/8 NPT Reducer (For the Autometer Gauge)

I don't see why not? If you were to do that this or something like it may also help too for cooler oil temps.

Here's how I have mine. It was set up for both the sending unit and future feed line (thus the cap on the one end). I never went turbo, but I would suggest, if you're going to do both, for ease of future access and to prevent vibration-related failures, you install a barb fitting into the block and then run a feed line up to a junction box somewhere on the firewall where you can better reach it. Then you can tap your feed and gauge off that block.

Thats a great idea, as for the junction box itself, would it be almost like that oil filter adapter, but without being hooked up the oil filter??

here is how i did my oil feed/oil pressure/restricter set-up. i added an oil temp sensor with a bung to my oil pan.

Good God. Why all the adapter fittings on that bitch?

Torque = Force x Distance. That is all I am going to say.

I use that sandwich. It has three ports to run off if you choose. You need to use a shorter oil filter with these too otherwise it will be the lowest point on the car.

I figured instead of making a new thread about it I would update this one on how I installed an AEM oil pressure gauge. I used a lot less fittings than that guy up there lol. The install was alot easier than I thought it would be. Just keep in mind, stock OPSU is 3/8", most aftermarket are 1/8".
