Ive searched a lot but some items are missing in my mind. This spring I will rebuilt my motor and i've made a list of what I need. I start right now to get the parts cause some are hard to got.

JE Pistons 8.8:1 0.020 bore
Eagle Rods
JE rings
Main and Rod bearing
Bottom gasket set
Head Gasket
Water Pump
Oil Pump
ARP Stud

Is anything missing ?

Questions now...

Ive read you need ARP studs for the head and other for block ???
As for the pins that hold the piston to the rod. Are they included with the rod ?

I will bring the block to bore it and to flat the head.

Sounds good so far. I have(built but not installed) Wiseco 8.8 20 over, Wiseco rings, Eagle rods, bottom end gasket kit(duh if its built), ARP headstuds, 25 over mains bearings, std rod bearings from Clevite. I have on the way a top end kit from Howell with some more goodies. I recomend Wisecos because there are several people here running them with no problem and are a little cheaper than JE. Eagle is a good rod. ARP headstuds; I would recomend them. Bedplate studs from ARP; sure if you have the money laying around. New water pump is good. New oil pump is good. Concept Illusions has them pretty cheap and fast del. time. Top and Bottom end gasket kit is good. Make sure you get the sealers and lubricates before you start it. Assembly lube, Copper gasket spray, Anerobic sealant, RTV silicone, etc. Make sure if you assemble the block you take the time to TRIPLE check your clearances for rings, and plastigauge strips. Sounds good with what you have so far. And yes the rods come with the pins. Leaving the head alone?

Ill not mod the head for now... already a lot of money for me. Its hard to figure out between JE and Wiseco... some says wiseco is better other says its JE ? My goal will be around 8-10 psi daily and 13-15 when race. I know JE use total or Pro seal ring.. Ive read pro seal are better but howell use total seal. Whats realy the difference ? Also... long rod. I just buy long rod instead of normal one and its ok ? As for the studs... If I understand I need to buy ARP for the head and ARP for the buttom right ? About 350$ !!!! for stud!!! Oh and for oil and water pump, new oem one is ok ? Do I need any form of "High performance pump ? "

EDIT: When selecting rod and main bearing, did you guy choose STD or other size ?

I use JE pistons w/ JE rings. I used to use Total Seal rings but they sucked, so I swapped them out last winter.

As for the studs, get the bedplate studs and head studs, they are worth the money.

An OEM water pump is okay but I would get a Melling oil pump.

And for the bearings, you wont know what size bearings you will need until you have the crank mic'd. Have that done and that will tell you. I stuck with standard size bearings because my crank was never out of round.

Damn It would be nice to already have all the stuff the I start to rebuid it. Howell ask you which bearing you need and take about 4 to 8 weeks after that to ship the kit. In general a good working motor with 90k have any form of bad crank ?
