102479, header and catback question
Posted by 99blackclipse, Jan-01-07 01:06 PM
I am getting an intake with the K&N filter sunday from a buddy of mine and now im planning on getting headers and a catback system. I was looking on ebay and found this

These are $73.00 shipped, is it good? Will anything have to be replaced beside the headers ofcourse. Also, when i do get the cat-back system, is it going to bolt onto the pipe of the headers?

Thanks for taking the time to read this and reply :)

That is the EXACT same header I have on my car. If you do buy I have a few tips for you. Make sure that you put both bolts and nuts on and tighten them down very well, otherwise the downpipe WILL seperate from the header, and that sucks, trust me. Also, that little cap on the side has no purpose at all, (at least not for my car) the one on the left side is for the o2 sensor, make sure the one on the right is tightened down very well, otherwise that will come off too. Other than those two problems, the header is a great piece just make sure that you wipe off all of the finger prints with some alcohol and a cloth otherwise they will turn colors (other than gold) and eventually rust. Good luck! Oh and taking off the stock header/downpipe is a major :wallbash

I posted this same post on another forum and they told me that it will crack where the header bolts to the mid pipe within 2 months. How long have you had yours? Thanks for the reply, im prob. going to get this header :)

I've had mine just over a year now. It hasn't cracked or done anything like that...

Also, where the header bolts up at, there is about two-four inches of pipe that slides into the downpipe, before you bolt it up. I really don't think that you would need to worry about it cracking

Of course now its all gold/purple looking
but for the price you can't beat it.
Ive had it for 3 months now with no issues.

I think a link would be better for this..like link to the egay page. This is just for info in the future when people go to search for a good header.

While your at it, write a review on it in a few months and throw it up on the Wiki.

This is just the standard knockoff header design. I had one on my 95 I sold a few months ago that was from 'T-PROS'. It had the label on it, much similar to the GREDDY I had on my 99 years ago.

Be very careful of anything you buy from Ebay sellers - drift-pro, jdmmotorz, autodynasty, stbracing, or mi_motor. Actually they are ALL the same person. I placed an order with them on November 22 and just got my money back today. It took me doing a search for their user name and Ebay to get an actual contact number. Found their info on a buickturbo site from someone else that had gotten screwed. They never responded to my EBay messages or Emails. They have 98.5% feedback but if you are one of the people that get screwed, it sucks. Just incase soneone else needs the contact info in the future if they end up on the bad end of one of these deals. Their (not listed number) is 1-866-9968-1102. Just an FYI folks. I learned my lesson. Its worth paying a little extra at a reputable shop and have the piece of mind.
