Where did you get the information to gap all 20 of the rings at .008?

What is your piston to bore clearance?

Is the little pink gasket for the oil filter in there between the block and bedplate?

I bought this block off of a member here. He did the rebuild, started the car and heard valve clash. I drove to FLA picked up the bottom end and tore into it. The pistons looked good, no damage but he also spun a main bearing. I polished the crank and got new bearings. The "pink stuff" is anerobic sealant, it calls for it in the Haynes. As far as ring gap, I have what I gapped it to at work. I can't remember off the top of my head. I called Wiseco and they told me a certain amount per in of bore. I did the measurements with a caliper and inside and outside micrometer. I will look tomorrow and post what I gapped them too.

No, what Dan is asking is if the Orange (or pink) o-ring is there for the oil port between the bedplate and block. Without that o-ring you WILL be pulling the motor again. We are all well aware of anerobic and the many uses it has on our motors and tranny's.

Can you circle what you are talking about, I don't see it. It is probably obvious but I just don't know what you are talking about.

Ok, look at the second picture which is a picture of the block upside down with the anerobic on it. If you look at the bottom rights corner of the block, you will see a port that enters the block at an angle. You will also notice a greyish circle around it. There is a large o-ring that goes there and fits in a groove on the actual bedplate.

When you place the bedplate on the block the o-ring gets sandwiched in-between. That port is actually the oil passage from the oil filter adapter. You must have that o-ring installed, if you dont, it will leak bad.

Well I guess it could be black but I don't know, just make sure it's an o-ring that will cover the space and not leak. I can tell you firsthand that you will be pulling the motor again if you don't put an o-ring there.
