My cams and rockers have some scaring on them and I have a slight ticking noise (I belive from that )in the head.Is this really bad or can I get away with not replacing them(crane cams and pt rockers so it would not be cheap to do)any help is appreciated

You should be ok. Make sure the cam caps aren't scored though. The insides, where the cam rides.

A little scoring is normal for used cams. BUT without looking at it, I can't say for sure. If you post up a couple of pics that would help us immensely.

I would try just replacing the rockers. The cams will have some scarring in them over time. I've always been taught that if you can catch your finger nail on them you have a problem.
