so i was driving my car home and i look at my temp gauge and it is at its peak.so i pull over and see that smoke is coming under where the battery is and above the tranny..does anyone know where it could be coming from?

one of the heater hoses that connect to the firewall up there busted IMO

overheated? i've had engines overheat on me and they would leak steam/smoke from around the valve cover and then if i loosened my radiator cap it would all come out in a big cloud...that'd be my guess. did you check all your fluids?

yeah i checked all my fluids and everything is ok.it is due for an oil change.its weird though, whenever its almost around my oil change, it slowly starts to overheat

Yea that's the only thing that'll smoke under the battery.

yep, mine broke like forever miles ago, pretty simple to fix. i think it was like 5/8''

yes you are very right..i was driving to moe's for lunch and i see my car is overheating again so i put my heat on and it still continued to blow cold air..do you know any sites that sell them? also, is it hard to replace them? last thing i wanna do is go to satan.

^^ go to NAPA, Autozone, whatever, tell them you need like 1ft of heater hose for your car, and make sure you get new clamps, it will cost you a little less then $2 and 30mins

First off let your engine cool off before doing this job, after that your going to want to take off your battery assembly(battery, tray), and air intake hose, then you need to find the soft heater hose that runs off the water pipe (the hard pipe that runs above the exhaust manifold), you probably will want to replace both of the hoses, there will be two of them. follow these hoses to where they connect at the firewall, you will need to get a small pair of pliers because the stock hose clams are a spring design. While you are doing this it is a good idea to cover up your speed sensor if you have a MTX, this is a plug by the rear transmission mount. After you have taken out all the stock hoses, you can begin to install the new hose, you might want to double clam the hoses in case you ever decide to run a high pressure cooling system someday.
