i took off my throttle body to get to a fuel leak in my 420a this morning and when i hooked everything back up it won't idle and won't rev above 3500 rpm. i checked the codes using the flashy light method and got codes 24 25 12 and 14 which throttle position sensor voltage, Idle air control motor circuit and map sensor-any idea why these codes would go on suddenly? thanks fo the help.

did you plug the sensors back in? lol

You might have knocked something loose when removing or reinstalling the TB.

If there is another 2GNTer near you, I'd see if you could swap MAP sensors to see if that's the problem.

3 codes related directly to a... Throttle body!

That is your 1st clue.
Investigate what you:
broke
forgot to hook back up
forgot to tighten
forgot to seal
etc.

when you... messed with the throttle body!

checked and triple checked everything on the tb. a couple of the codes also can point to the tb in realation to the map, which i also messed with and probably broke...so i'm gonna try and get a hold of one to check it out.

if i unplug the MAP while the car is running should there be a noticeable difference? Because when I unplug it there is no change.

I unplugged the MAP sensor on my car with it running and the idle dropped and it struggled to stay running. I plugged it back in and the car died. I repeated the same thing three times, each one had the same result.

But... that was with a cold engine running on it's "warm-up" high idle. If the engine was at operating temperature I'm assuming that it would die.

If pulling it has absolutely no effect on yours, it might be bad.

Anybody else want to run the same experiment to see how the results turn out?

i need a MAP sensor....good thing its thanksgiving and everybody is closed.
