k, my dam idle is still ruff as hell. it fluxes 600~1k. under normal driving it seems fine.

changed:
EGR
02 sensors
map
IAT
cam/crank
plugs
MSD coil and msd wires
cat
vac lines replaced with silicone
battery

some 1 suggested a vac leak, how can i hunt to see if theres ne leaks?
Is there any other sugestions out there? please help id like to get this dam thing running right. compression :200 across

That is pretty sad.

a good way to check for vaccum leaks is with a can of non-flamable brake cleaner. Spray bit by bit in the areas around the TB, intake manifold, injector bungs, manifold to head junction, map sensor, anywhere air could be drawn into the manifold. When the idle gets real bad and the car almost stalls, you've probably found the leak. The brake cleaner doesn't burn well, so when it gets sucked into the motor, it'll stumble and sputter. Get it?

Like Dino says, spray around intake joints and seals. Also, you can use a lit cigarette and watch for smoke to be pulled in to the air leaks.

ok, since im not driving my boosted venge (due to rain and my hood being vented0.) i decided to pull my boost gauge. i hooked it up to the 420a with the shit idle and bam.. -15 psi tops.. and when it settles and starts to get ruff, it drops further to -12 psi. so seems a vac leak is the root of my troubles? I tried to find this non-flamable brake cleaner and cant. I tried napa and kragen. is there any other chemical I can use? tia

Check and clean your Idle Air Controller, and adjust your throttle plate after cleaning your TB.

If your at 12-15 in hg vacuum you are doing ok at idle. I don't think you have a vacuum leak those usually tend to make the engine Idle high and not jump around much because it will be outside the parameters that the IAC motor can control.

well the TB and the IAC are new. ne other sugestions? and i searched and it said idle should be -17 psi. i thought vac leak would cause high idle too, but dark one said it could also cause low idle. i even pulled a vac line off and it was open, and i saw no change.. what does that mean?

That means your IAC motor is functioning correctly.

Seriously, try seafoam.. My idle was just like yours, after a can of seafoam problem solved.

It will smoke for about an hour after you do it, just follow the instructions.

haha, its funny u say that , i just got some. and i was gunna see if i could see smoke coming out of the intake mani b/c i think i may have a vac leak there, but ill try the sea foam ofcourse.

i tired sea foam but my idle -PSI isnt eunf to suck it in.i cleaned out and adjusted throttle plate via that screw on the TB. the idle seemed a lil smoother but still ruff. and then my vac went down to like -8 to -10... when i pull off the vac line to my egr crap , (the space ship lookin black thing by the EGR valve) it shows 0 vac.but when i go directly to manifold it shows vac of -10. what that mean? and now i threw a 21 code, and i know the 02 sensor is good b/c i pulled it from my other venge. but i guess it could be due to the attemt at sea foam.. what do you guys think?
