My Eclipse just went dead one day, Engine will still turn over however when the key is turned to the on position NO engine light comes on at all, tryed toggling to get codes and still nothing, While attempting to crank after it went dead I noticed i didnt hear the fuelpump its not fuctioning much or at all I check fuel pressure and found that it did not spray out the test outlet. There is also NO spark at the plugs or the coil pack. Pistons pressure is normal. and there is no oil in the water or any overheating, Head gasket was replaced and fuctioned properly for about a month before this happen. I tryed replacing the computer under the hood, with one I picked up at a junkyard altho it could be fried too since I have no way of testing them,is this the only computer controlling engine management?. By the way the interior lights, blinkers, headlights, and all accesories work. Is there any other computers that would controll fuel injection, spark, Engine Light? Would a timing chain jump cause these symptoms? Also I had taken it to a mechanic to look at it and he never got around to it so I went and picked up my car and I noticed there is a plug under the passenger seat that is not plugged into anything, what does this go to? Any Info would be greatly appreceated. If I didnt cover enough information for you to draw a conclusion please ask and I'll respond asap.

Could be a dead alternator or battery. I would start with those two things.

These were the first things checked. I put a hot battery from my truck into the eclipse however this didnt fix the problem. Alternator hasnt givin me any trouble and I see no reason to take it off and check it at autozone etc. Since this wouldnt keep the car from cranking with a hot battery in it? or would it?

You said you're not hearing the fuelpump prime at key ON right? Could be your fuel pump relay. If you've got a friend close with another 2GNT, you could try switching relays to see if this is the problem. Fuel pump relay is located on the drivers side firewall near the corner.

If your cars a 5spd, you can order this part number from the dealer...

No, but the ASD relay would, and the ASD relay also powers the fuel pump circuit, IIRC. Been a while since I've look at the schematic.

I would also try a KNOWN GOOD ecu from the same year model as your car.
