i have a question about timing. i have a friend who has an RS, pretty much stock except the intake and exhaust that he bought it with. he likes taking it to the 1/8 mile strip (closest thing around), but he is on a tight budget so he cant afford a turbo for a while.

i told him ill help him out with it, and that ill see if there is anything he can do for as little money as possible.

well i was thinking that if he runs premium, since its more resistant to knock, to advance timing by a few degrees?

i know its a 2gnt, and these kinds of mods wont really do much for them, but can i expect to get any power gains from it?

i also know not to overadvance my timing to put too much stress on the bearings.

How do you plan to advance the timing?

that i still have to figure out lol. i seen it dont on a 5.0 with a timing light, i dont know if it would work the same way for the 420a's.
