100970, Exhaust question? Posted by skylinemyth, Sep-16-06 12:59 AM
I was just checking out a few exhaust systems and I was wondering what you guys thought might be the best.....................
1) Apexi N1 or GT 2) HKS Carbon-Ti
Any opinions would be appreciated

Tsudo N1, just like the Apexi N1, but less expensive.

I like the APexi GT, but the Espelier System I saw on Jamesman's system is better.

I just got done putting the 3" Tsudo N1 exhaust on my car. The quality is AMAZING for an exhaust that is so cheap. Everything lines up perfectly as well and it looks great too. I was contemplating getting the Apex'i N1 but found this one for much cheaper. I am VERY glad I didn't spend $500 on an exhaust system. Also, the N1 is made out of material that WILL rust in 2-3 years, while Tsudo's exhaust is stainless which is much more resistant to rust.

That is a good point but the HKS is made out of stainless too plus it looks amazing....................How does the Tsudo N1 sound?......................Also did you buy the one for our n/a engines or the gst engine?

I agree completely with clipse. It's great quality and fitment. It's pretty good sounding, deep not like honda exhausts. I think it's a bit loud but I don't use the silencer and I got used to it quickly. I have the 3" one.

Is that the one for the GST or our N/A......GS/RS?

the rs/gs or gst CATBACK exhaust will fit on our cars, the only one that won't fit is the gsx exhaust. Anything from the cat forward for a gst/x will not fit our cars. The difference betweeen what is usually considered the gs/rs exhaust and the gst exhaust is the size. the 2.5" is usually advertised as the rs/gs exhaust whereas the 3" is usually advertised as the gst exhaust. What you choose depends on your setup. Assuming you're non-turbo, the rs/gs 2.5" exhaust will suit you fine, there are plenty of turbo people using it too, so you don't necesarrily have to upgrade to the 3" farther down the line if you decide to turbocharge your car.

Get the tsudo n1 unless you are a brand whore. I have had it for a while, although there were some fitment issues with it matching up to my cat it was nothing that a griding stone couldn't help. It is awesome for the money and sounds really deep and mellow; not raspy and pissed off like most hondas.

Cool...............I'll definatly look into getting the Tsudo N1............does it install under or over the rear suspension?........cause I noticed alot of GST exhaust systems go under the rear suspension........I don't mind if it does......I'm sure it flows better that way anyways...........I'll have to sell my used Greddy Evo exhaust first.......lol................thx for the info everyone

Mine sounds very deep because I bought the 3" because I should be turbo in the next couple months or so. It definately has a better sound than any honda exhaust I have ever heard, it never gets raspy even at the top end of the RPMs. GREAT exhaust, probably one of the best decisions I have made about the car so far as cost effective. Only thing I like better about the Apex'i N1 compared to the Tsudo is that personally... I think the angle of the Apex'i is a bit better. The Tsudo still has an out and up angle like the Apex'i, but it isn't as drastic... if you want I can take some pictures of it tomorrow to let you know what it looks like.

It goes over the suspension.

The Tsudo goes over the rear suspension and in order for the 3" to go over the suspension, but pipe is flattened just a bit to clear it, but in the same respect, it is flatter there, but wider so it doesn't restrict flow too much if at all.

Yep that's exactly how mine looks... I was actually just about to head outside to take a picture of it. Good thing I checked here first! Also, this is was my first full cat-back back exhaust and I'm not sure how the 2.5" feels but the 3" throttle response is amazing and I really can't feel a loss in power like most people say. I'm sure I'll REALLY notice the gain once the turbo goes in though.

Yes, as a matter of fact you will. Any mod done to a turbo car is much more noticeable than the same mod done to one that is N/A. I love running greater than 100% VE, lol.
Edit: what the hell is wrong with my sig pic

That looks pretty sweet..................go ahead and post your pics too clipse..........cause I could always use the image of a eclipse with the exhaust considering I have a eclipse and not a talon..............same thing but the rears looking different does make a difference to me........

I have the 3" Apexi N1 (got a great deal from someone) & it's not loud at all. I've also heard the Tsudo N1 on a GS & it sounds great -- especially for the quality & price!

101180, RE: Exhaust question? Posted by clipse_2005, Sep-28-06 04:27 AM
Here are a few pics from different angles...

And here is a pic of where it goes OVER the rear suspension...

Keep in mind that my car is lowered about 2.5-3" so the exhaust sits much lower to the ground on mine than it would on stock suspension. I don't know if you are lowered or not, just letting you know.
Good luck with the exhaust!
