I'm going to change out my plugs/wires. Normanlly I use NGK plugs with xact oem wires.

I'm looking for others opinions about them, and good ones for better spark and wires.

Could some of you list your favorites plugs with model number.

Can't find a section about, which spark plugs are ideal req. for big spark(cooling types)

Spark Plugs: NGK cheapest ones

Spark Plug wires: Bosch wires

That's all you need, under $50 too.

there's different NGK's the size number which one is the has coldest spark.

Ive heard that its good to them, due to heat.

If I were you, i'd stick to exactly what the factory recommends.

Okay, I'm sticking with NGK iriduim plugs but whats the difference
between 8mm- 8.5 mm. wires

Accel 8mm and MSD 8.5 mm. Can't find Magnecor in my area so, accel's or Msd are my two choices

I'm using the stock coil pack.Should I upgarde my coil pack for using Thicker wires.

I would go with the MSD's if you can... They have the least resistance out of all the plug wires

Well, I just stilled for Bosch platnium +4 they're pre-gapped
and Accel's 8mm REd run me about 64

accel 8mm thundersport wires
ngk bkr6es spark plugs
lots of mods to car but it really screams
the accel plug wires are radio suppression unlike the msd's
with radio use, amps and subs use the accel's for race only go with msd's..

So which plugs/wires do you guys recommend for boosted applications?

^^^^ inside of the boots like pulled out and wouldnt come off the plugs. wont be buying those again either.

anyway,

all im saying is, depending on how modified you are (im assuming youre not in immediate need of a stronger spark)...your stock ignition is more than likely just fine for anything you want to do. probably just want to waste money.

for me, bkr7e plugs, .035 gap, and stock ignition wires because i have NO LUCK with anything else for any extended period of time. msd coil pack but it sucks, dont buy it. they burn out and quit firing to 1 or more plugs after about 20k. Screamin' Demon is a good buy though.

Would thoughs plugs( Ngk Bre7) work on an NT.

Has anyone tried Accels 300 thunder series they're an 8mm wire. I just picked mine up today,they look small but stroner than xact wires.

a box of them is 10 though, and unless you have a viper motor or want to do two changes and have two extra...then yea buy a box. otherwise just buy 4.

here, read and comprehend this...a spark plugs heat range, and its actual firing voltage...are not related. There is thermal performance, and electrical performance. If you want a stronger spark, you need a Crane or MSD box, plain and simple. If you want to remove heat from the combustion chamber, change the heat range.

This thread inspired me. I was in a hurry last time I did the plugs and had some Densos in there. Dropped in a set of the NGK BKR5Es last night and she's purring like a kitten.

Then again, I think I've got too much heat in my combustion chamber, what with the pinging when it's super hot out and the AC's on, but still. I'll give these a shot for a while and see if I can tell any other difference. :p

NGK BKR6E's and autozone special wires. Here's a question tho. I know the bigger 8mm and 8.5mm wires are supposed to have less resistance and everything, but how much resistance can we really have, when our longest plug wire is less than 6" long? seems like a waste of money, imo.

Brian, I've always read in here that NGKBKR5Es are the ones NA should use. Why are some ppl now saying "why would you think you need different plugs?". But, you tried the 5E's, so far so good? I was going to special order a set, since local stores dont carry them, and put them on after my VC gasket change and use of a lil seafoam.

Now im just confused

Essentially, you don't need to use anything other than the stock plugs, but it can't hurt to play around a bit, right? If you want to throw in 5Es and use them for the winter, go for it. Check your mileage and see what you think. Come spring, throw 6Es in and compare.

:shrug I like the 5Es. I have no documentation to prove otherwise, but it feels like the car accelerates and idles smoother, and the slight pinging I got with the AC on at 15-20% throttle loads in 5th gear is all but gone. Then again, my old plugs were sporting a gap almost double what they should be, so...

Ok, last question: I live in So. Cal., would it hurt anything since it doesnt really get "Cold" over here. or what if I were to use them all year long?. Thanks in advance :thumbsup

not too expensive cept the coil pack, I change plugs like every oil change that's what nice about the cheap ones.

hair plugs and the under wires that are in bras the lucky bastards are my favorites
