100827, SAFC number frozen and high lighted? Posted by Jacque766, Sep-05-06 12:24 PM
My SAFC for some reason is freezing the readings and high lighting them.
For example monitoring 3 channels:
RPM: COR: TPS:
When i start the car they all change as normal but then the RPM readout freezes at a certain reading like 1875rpm (different every time i restart the car) and the TPS does as well. The only one that keeps adjusting is the COR.
then it higlights the numbers?
It stays this way the entire time i drive the car and the only thing that changes is COR: WHen i do a sensor check all the values are still constantly changing.
what gives? Thanks, Jason

If you rev it, do the numbers go to the max? My guess is you have it set to capture the maximum and hold those.
Read the manual on how to go to the normal display mode.

I think it was the maximum caption thing. I didnt know there was such a feature so after tearing apart my wiring to recheck and only to find everything was ok. I initialzed both the SAFC and ACVR and now they work fine.
I tired playing with both of them for an hour but nothing i did could get it out of the max caption feature before i initialized.
thanks, i'll read up on that feature.
