100811, Sensor leaking oil!!!!

The sensor on the back of my block is leaking oil. I think its the oil sending unit or something. I know since it has been leaking that my oil lamp has been on. The sensor has one wire coming out of the back of it. I was just wondering if this happens ever now and then. Is it just a bad sensor and i should replace it???

Since the light came on and its leaking, its most likely bad. Replace it. A new one cost 18.00

Not to mention you can just cap it off. All it does is activate the dummy light. If you need the dummy light, well, you better get it fixed, but if you check your oil regularly, you can get a brass fitting and cap that mother off and be done with it.

Get a T and other necessary plumbing, teflon PASTE, a new dummy light sender and a oil pressure gauge and give up an hour or 2...
Current and future problems solved :-D
