100505, car stalling out Posted by red-cruzer99, Aug-18-06 10:06 AM

Well what happend is that as of late my car has been threatening to stall out when braking to a stop or making sharp/slow turns......just the other day, it actaully shut off on me, powersteering went dead and everything. Today, i popped the hood to check the oil levels, since the car burns alot of oil....well when i popped the hood i discovered that the crankcase oil cap was not on! it was laying next to the block....since i regularly have to replace the oil, i forgot to put it back on. Do you think this is the reason why this happened? I mean it had been threatening to shut off since BEFORE w/ the cap on....also the oil levels were low but still able to touch in the stick, oil light not on either. I also have been using HD 40 so the car wont burn the oil so quickly....could it be that the oil is too thick? Do you think it could be the fuel pump? Sorry about the long read, but i wanted to give as much info as possible. Thanks in advance!
i have:
-new spark plugs/wires -new terminal (maybe not tight enough?) -short ram intake -new battery -new fuel filter, but stock fuel pump -stock timing belt
