100390, MAP sensor voltage question? Posted by eclipse982nrRST, Aug-11-06 10:57 AM
So, still having the rich problem at idle with a new timing belt and tensioner.
Question is, I am thinking this is a MAP sensor error.
I am seeing my 5v, ground is okay, but my signal wire, is only seeing 4.1v. I have my homemade FCD and I can adjust the voltage from 1.0 and up but it does not go any higher that 4.1. My thinking was that I should have been able to atleast see it get to 4.5v+. Am I wrong or does this point to a faulty MAP sensor?
All the wiring is fine, so it must be the MAP, correct?

Which wire is the signal/power/ground? I ask because i'm trying to wire mine into a pigtail with diffrent color wires.

The upper clamping voltage limit of your FCD should have nothing to do with idle issues. Now if the low limit was too high then yes..
Take off the FCD for testing and getting the idle sorted out. You don't need it if you don't go into boost. That just takes that variable out of the picture.

So Mike, we've been waiting in suspense for a year and a half. Did you ever get your idle sorted out?!?
For anyone wanting to know MAP sensor wire colors: http://www.2gnt.com/www/corbin/95ECU.html Pin locations are not always consistent, but the colors are
5V Supply should be green with yellow stripe Ground should be black with green stripe Output should be yellow with black stripe
