i'm not sure what's causing this. but there are a few different symptoms.

first and foremost, when i go to start the car, it sometimes take a while, like it'll crank and then kinda blub blub for a second and then idle normal. other times it'll catch but die, and when i crank it again it starts right up.

secondly, when i'm driving in third or fourth, around 2000 rpms, the car stutters. it'll kinda grain power, or lose it, and then come right back. mostly comes back because i give it a little gas. it's not a complete power loss, more like just really jerky and not fun to drive. this doesn't happen at higher speeds. i feel like it's because the exhaust is not restrictive at all, and it almost seems like when the exhaust burbles, this is happening. i'm at a loss and could use some help.

sounds like fuel related. When is the last time you changed the fuel filter? How many miles on the injectors? Poss bad gas

it's not bad gas. don't know about the filter or the injectors. should i change the filter and clean the injectors?

anytime you buy a car and do not know the complete history you should:

Change fuel filter
Change fluids
Check brakes
check air filter.

Live by that and it will save you headaches my friend.

Def change your filter, a clogged filter will burn out a fuel pump.

Start there since its simple and needs to be done regardless.

As far as cleaning the injectors, bottles you add to the tank dont really do much long term, you can try it its worth the 7.00 or so.

I don't know why it is still thought that a free flowing exhaust can hurt you. You do not need, or want, back pressure from the exhaust. I have a full 3" exhuast (no cat) and the car responds great whether in low or high rpm. How do you think cars can run just a short pipe(headers or downpipe) and end it there and call it they're exhuast? As far as your problem goes, I am also thinking it is a fuel problem.

how often should your fuel filter and injectors be replaced...my car has 110k and the filter has been changed once and the injectors...well, never.
