SOmethign faulty, you'llbe introducing hot exhaust gasses into the engine when you don't want it. The vave is only suppose to open under cruising conditions, under acceleration it should be closed. Possible... Other possible causes... crank or cam angle sensor, the Neon guys get this problem sometimes and there was even an update of the crank sensor a couple of times. But that didn't alway fix the stuttering.
