The bad news:
I will not make the Shootout this year.
I must have been blinded by optimism and excitement over this thing, because I just ran the numbers and at best, I will have only $300 to make an $800 trip. Poor planning on my part (as long as I’ve been jumping up and down about this, I should have been setting some scratch aside) and a low paying temp job have fucked me right in the ass on the one thing I have been looking forward to for 8 months. If I had a credit card, I would put the whole trip on it, but I have no credit cards and no cash. I have a temp position so I can’t even get a credit card from anyone. I am so fucking pissed right now I can’t see straight. For the past few months, all I have been thinking to get myself through the hard times is that the Shootout is right around the corner and I’m going to be ready. Well, I’m not ready. I will have to see you all next year or something.

I need the people who will be staying in the rooms I reserved to drop me a PM with their full names. I will be calling the Norwalk Inn to tell them who to transfer the rooms over to. I’d rather not have my credit card as the security on rooms some 2,000 miles away and risk getting them trashed, but I’m willing to negotiate. Drop me a PM and we’ll get this settled.


I better get this fucking job at Motorola. Something good has to come of this year. It’s pretty much been an 8 month long suckfest for me. You can bet the weekend of the 13th-15th I will be thoroughly shitfaced and bitter.

Rooms reserved with debit card. So if my name's on them and they get trashed, they take it from my checking account and I get royally fucked. (Not an altogether farfetched idea consdiering hwo this year has gone so far.)

This is my absolute last ditch effort. If there's anyone else around here as die hard about 2GNT as me, I have yet to meet him.

I can get a round trip flight on Southwest from Phoenix to Chicago Midway for under $200. I would get into Midway about 1230AM on Friday (that's after midnight Thrusday night people). Then I would catch a flight back to Phoenix on Monday evening around 7pm.

Here's what I would need:
* Someone to drive into Midway (which I know is not as nice as O'Hare) at midnight Thursday night to pick me up.
* Someone to let me roll with them to Norwalk from Chicago
* Someone to cart my happy die hard ass back to Chicago.
* Someone to drop me at Midway in time for my flight out at 1855 Monday.

Can we do this? I have to book my non-refundable, non-exchangeable tickets by Tuesday.

Let's get me there. I don't want people's money. My finances are my problem, but dammit, I need the Shootout imo.

If Midway doesn't work out, check out Louisville KY. It's 90 mins. from me and you'd have a place to stay instead of spending a whole day in the airport.

Haha. Two problems with that sir:

1. I would feel like one of Jerry's kids or something. I would prefer no charity aside from the random free beer. :thumbsup

2. Yeah, I could accept that and then pay it back, but then I'd have to keep track of 25 people. Oh man. I would SO mess that one up.
