1, Where are we staying 2004?
Posted by DR1665, Jan-03-04 10:01 AM
EDIT: nm - mild panic attack.

Where is everyone staying this year? We need to move fast since it looks like the cheaper rates are selling out already. Somebody please make a decision so I can book 4 rooms already! :o

I was thinking maybe we could stay up in Sandusky or so on the lake if it was a decent rate. We all just need to decide pretty quick. Ordinarily, I wouldn't care if I was 10 minutes outside of town since I usually drive more than an hour in town here in Phoenix, but considering how shitty drunk we're all going to get (at least us from Phoenix who will not be used to the humidity and need more refreshments), probably a good idea that we all stay together so we can just crawl back to our own rooms eh?

Thanks!

I have gone racing at Norwalk before, and they have free camping for racers right on the track grounds. If I go, I will probably do that. You can drink and party right there at the track, you would never have to worry about driving anywhere. The only problem would be a shower.

FYI, Sandusky is 18 miles from Norwalk.

Thanks again admin2! :P

We were discussing tonight about borrowing an RV from a friend's parents to make the trip. Is there a website or phone number to get through to the Norwalk Inn? I realize that Sandusky is a stone's throw, but we would really like to be sure to be staying with the rest of the 2GNT crowd, ya know? I also just had a local TSi owner say he'd be interested in going with us. Make it a likely 6 cars rolling out of Phoenix on the 10th! Wo0T!

I think we'll be staying at the Best Western again.

AZ 2GNT will be at the Norwalk Inn from the 12th to the 16th. FYI. Now I'm REALLY starting to get excited! Wo0T!

You are going to want to stay at a hotel right on the main strip. (if you can call it that). Best Western for me for the 4th year in a row. It was around $120 for three days and two nights last year. (and we split that 7 ways).

Norwalk Inn was a touch over $300 (total) for three people in a 3 bed room for 4 nights (Get there Friday, leave Tuesday). Porn, fridge, microwave and it's half the distance to the track than best western. Right out front is McDonalds (maybe burger king, can't remember) and a DIY car wash.

You can basically yell from the Norwalk Inn to BW. The town isn't big enough for them to be far apart. The track is a 8 minute drive from anywhere on the main strip. Either is a fine choice.

Good price though.

Edit: Norwalk Inn, like BW, Econolodge, and the Amerihost is right on the main drag right? Or am I remembering the layout comepletely wrong?

Sweet! So I can drink with Dino and company (assuming I am worthy by then) and all I have to do is run Ninja-style back to the Norwalk Inn to avoid a drunk and disorderly ticket. Wo0T! I'll be sure to wear a black shirt for to make teh Ninja mask with.

Aug. 13th - 116.96
Aug. 14th - 125.96
Aug. 15th - 71.96

AAA :thumbsup

It's still sketchy if Im going to make it or not but I figured i might as well reserve a room while theres still rooms to reserve. If all goes to plan, it will be a massive road trip from san diego, CA to TX to meet up with a friend in Pearland and then drive on up to the shootout.

BW, Phone: 419-663-3501

I just made my reservations yesterday. They are geting full fast. When I told the woman I was making reservations for the future, she said, "Let me guess, weekend of Aug 13-15 right?". Call soon or you'll be left out of the BW fun. I think it's the best option. But that's just me.
140, RE: Where are we staying 2004?

Yeah, they knew exactly what weekend I was calling for. I think we keep that city alive! :7

I'm booked at the BW now also. woo woo.

I think some of you guys who called for reservation at BW are getting a shitty deal...I reserved mine online, the 13th was $106 and the 14th was $114 for a room with 2 doubles, non-smoking though, I don't know if that makes a difference.
251, RE: Where are we staying 2004?
Posted by BuckNutty, Jan-14-04 06:34 PM
i dunno man...camping out sounds fun...only issues would be heat, bathroom, and showering IMO. I'ma still try n get a room someplace...I didn't think that Norwalk Inn would fill up so quick :( I'll call around and see wtf is up with other places, i'll post up some prices n whatnot.

Yeah, I'll most likely end up camping too. That will be cool. We gotta find a place where we can have a fire though. I wonder if they allow camping & contained fires at or near the track.
307, RE: Where are we staying 2004?

i remember seeing places where they had fires last year...so i assume its all good. We could have a lil 2gnt camping community at teh track. :thumbsup
