78, UPS - United Parcel Service

Well I've been ripped off by UPS about 20 times now, so it's time I asked everyone to stop using their crappy delivery service.

Example 1) Bought part from 2gnt member, he shipped it UPS. :nono Big mistake. Part gets returned to him a week later with no explanation. He ships it again. This time it disappears never to be found. Seller is out the part but UPS doesn't care, it's not their fault.

Example 2) Sold $300 part to a nice lady on Ebay. Went to the UPS *customer counter/distribution center* and asked the MANAGER to personally inspect my item before shipping it. Paid $15 for an extra outer box, and chemical foam packing. Got the manager's GUARANTEE the box was properly packaged. Insured it for $300. Item gets returned to me 2 weeks later intact. UPS re-ships the item, whoops their mistake, so sorry. Another 2 weeks later, it arrives to the lady smashed and broken. She takes it to a UPS center and they say it has to be sent off to be inspected. They take it, and 3 weeks later I call and ask for the status. They say it was "insufficient packaging", and that they had shipped it back to me. I never got it back. They said I was SOL, they would not reimburse me, and to call their insurance company if I had a problem with it. I spend 2 months faxing threats and proof of shipments (all documents were "lost" on UPS's end) and ordering microfilm reprints of shipping documents. 5 months and about $30 in personal expenses later, they cut me a check for $250.

I could go on, but please post your own bad experiences with UPS.

I havnt bought or sold anyone here on 2gnt, but my part time job is selling items on eBay. So many people get pissed off when I dont offer UPS as a shipping service. Many a times the same thing has happened to me. "the package was lost" or "we wont cover the insured value" or "we cant give you that kind of information".
UPS sucks, downright should be put out of business, maybe its just the people working for them that get $20 an hour! Assholes!
I sicked my dog after one of them once when a package came to me from slickcar.com dented and beaten to hell. It was definatly one you had to have been there for.

UPS = :puke

I am in a pickle with them right now, and this is the first time I have ever had anything go wrong.
Evidently one of the boxes finally reached the guy today, but the other still on it's way to like mars or somethin'.
This wasn't a cheap box either it has an I/C and all the piping! This is begining to be a headache.

fedex? wtf. they sent my bumper to Richland Washington. instead of richland OREGON. it clearly said it right on the packaging, but they thought they would be smart and send it to WA anyhow. it finally showed up, and their computers said it had arived days earlier. so stupid.

Strange. I've never had a problem sending UPS, and more fuckups that I could possibly imagine one company make from FedEx. Of course, when it really matters, I ship Airborne Express. A little more pricey, but well worth it.
