8972, input shaft seal Posted by sheldon, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
I have the motor out(timing belt went), and my transmission is leaking from around the input shaft. How do I remove it? I've read where I need to use a press or 3/4" socket and mallet to press it in. Also, what do you recommend to clean the bell housing?

It's press fit. You may be able to hammer it out, or you can use a press.

Dealership, although the MSRP is like $84.10 last I checked. It's all one piece. Snout, bearing, and seal. Needs to be pressed out from inside of bellhousing with a large socket.
If you still need one, I sell them for $50 shipped. OEM Mopar ones.
Don't use a hammer, needs to be pressed out and then back in. I use old wheel bearings to press it back in, they fit over the snout nicely.
