I saw that you were maybe in the works of a 5spd tranny swap. I'm thinking about doing the same and have been looking for some type of thread that shows all of the parts needed, and maybe the different car models that you can take a 5spd tranny from and have it work on the 420a. Do you have any useful information?
Thanks for looking~

you'll just have to search on the forum for your answers. Also, read the wiki for it. Here:

This is the most complete list of links available to date for a successful swap. You owe me.

My first remark was just a quick glance at th sites. That's some incredible information and I appreciate you taking the time. If this in't already the top thread for the tranny section, it needs to be! Thanks again!

my opinion. DO IT. you'll love it.
you'll have ups and downs while installing it. Like removing the TCU is a PITA, and the shift cables aren't that all bad, but still a PITA.
Some of the parts are hard to come by. Like the bolts for the shifter base and the C-Clips used to hold the cables to their locations.
I kept extra goodies exactly for this purpose because I knew there'd be someone who'd need em on the forum at some point. start gathering parts. :)

You forgot the most awesome page of all:

I might be a little biased. If anyone is interested, I have a nearly complete collection of 5-speed swap parts that I would like to sell (PM me for a list).
