Ok, I don't have much time (I gotta get to work) but I think yu may be confused. Our cars have modular (all riveted as far as I have seen) cluthces. Though ACT did supposedly come out with a clutch for our car relatively recently, I suspect that those discs are not for ours (I may be wrong but I don't have time to check).

First read through the differences in clutches;

Then know that the pressure plate is what "decides" the amount of clamp force. The disc just transfers that amount. So, if you were to change out the disc, you would still have the same amount of clamp force as stock (though the better disc would be able to transfer the force better than the stock disc).

I dont run a modular clutch in my car. Its been a while since I took the stock clutch out but I believe I used a neon flywheel and a clutch from a 4g63.

Upgrading the disc will give you more holding power if the material on the disc has a high coefficient of friction than the stock disc did. However I would no use the stock pressure plate just because it is pretty weak and no matter what disc you, it run wont hold up with the abuse slicks will put on it. Hell I was running a 22xx lb plate I believe and a kevlar disc similar to the southbend you posted and it wont hold my car on street tires. A few runs with the 20g at 23psi and it was toast.

i make this question because my friend have a 420aturbo with wiseco 8.8:1 pistons, eagle race rods, hahn portfueler and more mods.. and he have the oem "LUK" pressure plate with the TZ series southbend disc, and the clutch never slip...

so, for use slicks, i have to buy a complete clutch kit (southbend stage II tz series per example)???

So then you aren't using the stock pressure plate. You guys also need to tell me how you got the 4g63 disc to work on there.

If you are looking to upgrade the clutch, you generally upgrade the disc and the pressure plate. I really am not sure of what disc and pressure plate you have on there. If it is slipping, it MAY be the disc if you did a lot of launching on a stock disc. She stocker would put up with it for a little bit, but then she would give out.
