I know there are aftermarket billet aluminum shift selectors for other cars, has anyone ever seen one for our cars?

Why? I have yet to see a shift select mechanism fail. it's a very simple and very robust piece. On other transmissions perhaps not so much, which would allow for an aftermarket improved piece, but ours is pretty damned solid.
