7180, horrible sound when first started in idle
Posted by boosted60trimrst, May-17-08 06:18 PM
It sounds like a bad clanking sound coming from inside the trans When cars first cranked on then in idle. To explain the sound more it almost sounds like if something to be knocking on the firewall inside the bay randomly .When i push the clutch in it goes away .Then does it again when just releasing the clutch in first gear .It all sounds good then but comes back when downshifting . I hope someone has some good advise cuz this sounds getting worse and worse every week .

or a broken tab on the TOB. I've got a busted tab and it clicks realy funny at low speeds especially when cold

Clutch fork...nah. Check the rear mount next. Make sure one of your axles isnt fucked up in the inner joint.
