The question is how much to torque the pressure plate-to-crank bolts. I don't think these numbers even officially exist, so this post may just serve to aid someone who uses the search engine later. Anyone who has additional info on this, please post, because these are the numbers that have been conveniently left out of the Factory service manual, chiltons, haynes, and we have had different numbers quoted in the past here on 2gnt-

So it's either 35, or twice that number :) I think I'll go for somewhere in between. I'm also using blue loctite.

I'm not referring to the flexplate-to-clutch/flywheel bolts, which are 55 ft-lbs per all the manuals.

I torqued them to "really tight".

yup, I came across your posts when I use "torque" as a search term - it seems you usually just smash things with a hammer when we are spending time searching for the specs sheet.

You try getting a torque wrench on the back of the flexplate ;-) a 6-sided 18mm box and a hammer works so much better.

I'm gonna have to side with Dino on this one, unless you've got the engine out it's a serious PITA

holy! you guys work on the flexplate with the engine still in the car? yea, there's no way to fit a torque wrench in there if that's the way you do it.

You see, this is a trick question. The answer is 0. The pressure plate does not bolt to the crank (where's the damn "I'm so smug" icon?)
