Is there anywhere to get these besides mitsubishi? The part# is MO4797316. It's the worm gear on the trans that drives the speedo sensor. Thanks!

You can ask members here that might have a blown up trans....otherwise the answer to your question is no.

And fuck, you wouldn't believe how many dsm's i see on the road now that i have one. Some make me want to throw up and bitch slap the owner. Completely off-topic. I know.

can u explain this worm gear.. because my vss stopped working, and when i test it , it test ok.. and when i stick my finger where the sensor goes, i can feel a gear that i can move up and down at the side . ( and it's not the gear that is on the sensor)

That is the same one. It is called the Speed Sensor Drive gear. It's the one mounted on the diff. inside the trans case. I put my new one in today. I ordered one from a local mitsu, and it was 26.XX shipped. It was here in (2) days. I'm gonna have to find a new trans though b/c my case busted today when I was putting it back on.
