5804, Don't know so i'm askin

Does doing the clutch restrictor mod have any negative side affects or anything of this nature. I ask because I am the kind of guy that modifys his cars very carefully and I just was a lil too curious not to ask. Also if I do do it how do bleed my clutch I understand that you do it like the brakes but I would feel more comfortable if some one explained it too me. Also is it better for me to use hi-per dot 4 fluid. As usual any and all post are extremely appreciated and welcomed. Thanks :bowdown

It shouldn't have any negative effects to your car. All that happens by taking out that restrictor piece is it allows more fluid to pass through the line. I've had mine off for about 1.5 years and I don't have a complaint at all with doing it. It's a slight difference, but I would still do it.

To bleed:
After you have the restrictor out, fill up the clutch resevoir (sp) and have some one push the clutch pedal down all the way to the ground. Tighten up the nut where it is letting fluid out and have the person pull up the pedal if need be and then unscrew the nut and repeat the process until it's a solid stream of fluid coming out each time. Make sure to watch the resevoir so it doesn't get too low on fluid or else you will have to redo the whole thing over again.

Just give it a few pumps. I used DOT 4 on mine, it gave it a little more stiff feel, which is kinda nice IMO.

The other way to bleed it, since it is lower than the resevoir, is to just gravity bleed the system. Take off the cap, open the bleeder valve, and let it dribble out. Again, make sure to not let the level in the resevoir get TOO low, or you'll need to do it alllll over again! Also, if you have any dirt or crud in the resevoir, now would be a GREAT time to wipe/clean it out.

What did you read? Yes please more info because I did this mod last night lol. If its not good I'll put the restrictor back in before I loose the little thing. My car still isn't back together so I can't offer any insite. Others?

I spoke with wickedESi last night and he said that he thought doing this mod with an aftermarket clutch would be beneficial and possibly reduce the amount of chatter. He's got a CM stage 3 or 4 and has this mod done as well so...I'll leave mine out then
