5647, The Easy Way to Install a New TOB Posted by WickedESi, Aug-17-06 06:03 PM
I've heard about a lot of people breaking the little tabs on their new TOB's trying to install it.
Just pop the TOB fork off, grease it where needed, slide the new TOB onto the fork, and slide the TOB/fork assembly onto the tranny. Easy.

I thought that was the standard procedure?

I'm sure it is, but I've always heard of people on here using a screw driver to push out the tabs to pull it off and then breaking the tabs.

I know I have come across this problem more times than I have cared to. Andy, Is there anyway SBClutch could design a better TOB for us. I live about 10 minutes away from you guys and I could swing a TOB over for you guys to look at and see. Just send me a message if this is possible.

When i installed a new clutch and throwout bearing i had no problem. i used my haynes manual. described in detail what to do. was a sinch. went through about 4 cans of brake cleaner though. clutch works great, and no more rattling TOB.
