5524, atx to mtx electrical question Posted by DSMTalon, Jun-19-06 07:13 PM
ok so im doing the atx to mtx swap, and i know youre supposed
to replace the computer w/ the one for the mtx, but im
wondering about the speed sensor in the back of the tranny, is
it easier to just replace the harness w/ the one from the
factory mtx equipped car, and if so, how hard is it to remove
the harness... or B, do i just splice the wires..and if so,
does anybody have a schematic to do so, or know where i can
get one? im pretty sure theres a post up about this somewhere,
but i couldnt seem to find it using the search...

Lots of posts in this section, even more in the ATX section. Ill Draw something really crude for ya.
your easiest bet is to splice. no need to change the whole harness for 3 wires.

ok so for the VSS, you splice the yel/wht wire to the 3rd terminal, the blk/grn wire to the second, and the yel. to the 1st terminal right? how about the reverse lights? too small for me to see.. lol and are the terminals for the VSS determined w/ the connector clip facing up or down?

look at the VSS It should have a bigger space between 3 and 2.
As for the reverse, its just a switch. Its either open or close, so even if you wire it backwards it will work.
