4762, wont go into gear? Posted by mlsbka, Sep-18-05 12:07 PM
ok....before i replaced the clutch i was having problem shifting at or after 6k. and to get it into gear nice and easy i had to push the clutch down to the firewall...i could hear my throw out bearing so i assumed that was the problem.
KNOW, i just got my clutch replaced with another used stock clutch which i bought from dmbonric who apperently said the clutch had no more then 30k and wasnt abused at all and also replaced the throw out bearing. after the clutch is fucking worse.. i lliterally have to force it into gear..doesnt matter which gear.....only time i can get to go in fairly easy is by pumping the clutch a few times....also i notice that the clutch gets alittle more stiffer when pumping...also the clutch is to lite and catches low as hell...i have no clue wat it could be.....PLEASE HELP
PS...I WAS AT THE GAS STATION....and i had the clutch down in first and the car was moving forward...lol...i was like wtf.

Your need to bleed your clutch hydralics. Sounds like you have some air in the system.

well...im sure its not the slave cylinder or master cylinder...checked both of them only thing i got was "gunk" out of the slave cylinder nothing else......the car has been bled plenty of times with no positive result....so im assuming flywheel, clutch pressure plate? any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

CORRECTION.....the guy that did my clutch didnt bleed it intially after he finishing putting the tranny up....once he noticed how he had to force the gears in he bleed it 3-4 times and declared it was fucked....though he says when he bleed the clutch the clutch would get harder but once he started the car the shit would have those problems. thanks

Check for leaks...
I had the same problem, it would get stiffer, I would turn on the car and drive half a block before it would go out again... Check the line, they have a huge tendency to leak. I have had to replace 2 already...
