Me and a friend have been working on my tranny for 2 collective days.........the freakin thing still ain't out. We have an inch to 2 inches between the tranny adn the motor all around the tranny, and it still will fall. From now on, i think if i have a tranny issue, i will go to a shop.

I changed my clutch this past weekend, and I had my tranny out in 2 hours by myself. Can you tell what it's hanging on? I unbolted the motor mounts(3 of them) from the tranny instead of from the car itself, took off the linkages, took off the starter, unplugged any wires going to the tranny, took out the axles, unbolted the flexplate from the modular clutch unit, unbolted the bellhousing from the block, pulled back and it dropped fine. Of course I used a jack to support the tranny and to lower it, and used a jack stand and a block of wood on the oil pan to hold the engine up. I didn't even pull my header's downpipe to do it. Maybe you're just forgetting to disconnect something.

I think that the input shaft is hanging on the clutch, from shear pressure (not peer pressure) and that is causing it to bind. Unbolt the clutch from the flexplate (may be difficult!), and try again.
