4457, how to check fluid Posted by Chamuko, Jun-05-05 11:03 AM
K I looked around since I remember a write up.
found the one on how to drain and fill, but is there a way we can measure how much is in therE?
the problem u ask? I put the 2.1 qts, but stupid me left the drain bolt finger tight and over the past 3 weeks its been leaking little by litte. barely noticed since I have not moved it in 2 weeks and notived the puddle under it. Doesnt look big by any means, but Id rather fill her up then have her low.
man there went 42 bucks in fluid.

just take the rubber fill plug out and fill it till it starts to overflow a little. there's no real way to measure how much is in there.

I addressed this here... (I don't think that a search would have found this post, so don't feel bad.) :P

I used a piece of flexible plastic pipe and the top of a diswasher detergent squeeze bottle (it screwed right on to the tranny fluid bottles). It actually wasn't hard to do at all, but I'd take off the tire, remove the battery and jack up the car.

Don't fill it through the rubber plug, fill it from the reverse light switch.
Pull the plug out so that you can see when you are at the right level, though.
