Hey guys, I'm getting a serious vibration @ about 2500 rpm thru the pedal? Wierd huh, it goes away when Im on the gas or off the gas, but just cruising it vibrates like crazy. It will also vibrate if I just rev the car in neutral to about 2500 and just touch the clutch pedal with my foot. It does not make any noise or slip or anything. Just the vibration. Anyone had this problem?

No idea. Have someone else replicate the condition and watch the slave cylinder.. it the TOB is wobbling really badly, or the pressure plate teeth are uneve, i could see the fork vibrating..

Yea I thought about the TOB as well, but it is brand new and has not done this yet. It only started after I did a HARD brake (testing my brembro rotors and hawk pads). So i thought mabey something had shifted. I also noticed today that in reverse the clutch really wants to grab. Like I said above, if it is under load or decelerating then it is smooth as smooth gets. Just cruising its a horrid vibration. And only in the pedal. I don't feel it elsewhere like the other pedals, steering wheel or shifter. Wonder if it could be the master/slave cyl going out. arrrrggg this car nickle and dimes me....

Typically when they go out, the pedal gets spoungy and unresponsive. I doubt that is issue in this case.

If you are feeling a vibration in the pedal, look at all the things that can transfer vibration into the hydralic system. This means the PP, TOB, slave cylinder...

What about the bolts on the actual pedal braket, or the nuts that hold the master cylinder to the chassis?

Could be, Im tearing into the pedal assembly tonight to see if anything is broken/worn. uggggg, all this with an auto x only 2 weeks away :(.

If the vibration is severe, you should look into taking out your tranny and clutch and take a good look at your flywheel.

I just recently fixed my friend's 99 Ford Escort because of a problem very similar to yours. the center portion of his flywheel ,where the bolts go, was completely separated from the rest of the thing, it was cracked all the way around.

I removed the tranny and torque converter and the outer portion of the flywheel just fell off leaving the inner ring bolted to the output of the engine. Driving the car like this caused a very loud noise and horrible vibration from the engine at around 2000 RPM.

Im thinking maybe you installed an aftermarket clutch and somehow did not torque the bolts down evenly or to proper torque, or maybe you need to put some loctite on them. If its not that it may be the same thing but with your clutch if its a model that is not rivetted but bolted together. Something is not balanced in there or centered correctly.

Yes new clutch recently, I tourqed all bolts to spec and used loctite. Its easy enought to check the bols though. I'll take the cover off tonight and see if any bolts are loose. Although with a modular clutch it would be hard pressed for the flywheel to come apart and fall out.
